Julia's approach to interior design brings together her family’s legacy in design and construction, decades of formal art education, and a robust background in project management. She was born and raised in the expansive landscapes of Montana, where wide-open spaces shaped her sense of design and scale. Her earliest mentors were her father - a skilled residential and commercial builder and fine woodworker - and her mother, whose classic taste influenced everything from clothing to interiors. As a child, she spent countless hours in her father’s workshop or on-site, admiring meticulous carpentry or scavenging for materials. This passion guided her through years of art education, where talented instructors refined her eye for aesthetics, honed her problem-solving skills, and encouraged abstract thinking.
Julia studied architecture at Montana State University, eventually transitioning in to business marketing—a shift that propelled a 20+ year career as a marketing and art director. (Interior Design was not a course offering at MSU.) She has completed numerous interior design course, including a 12 month in-person course on the principles of design; color, lighting, scale, etc. (2015 Graduate). She took a 6-day in-person course 'The Business of Design' under Kami Gray, Owner, The Philosophie of Home (2024 Graduate), and she continues honing her skill through the Denver Design Center, one of the world's largest interior design fairs - Highpoint, and online course work, including a 5 week AI course. She is at the top of her game and consistently expands her knowledge.
Julia works closely with a team of skilled professionals to ensure each project is executed smoothly and efficiently, with attention to both the big picture and the smallest details. We embrace an environmentally friendly approach by repurposing furnishings, or built-in elements, whenever possible. For Julia, successful design lies in collaboration and helping clients express their individual styles. Her goal is to craft spaces that feel open, welcoming, and truly reflective of its inhabitants.
In 2006, Julia and her husband—both lovers of the outdoors and real estate—began investing in properties, ultimately remodeling and managing multiple long-term investments throughout Colorado. Our portfolio now includes 17 doors, including a 1920s cabin on the St. Vrain River.
