Melody Heights
Originally a modest Mid Century, this home went through a significant remodel by locally renowned builder, Dante Medri in 2002. Today’s structure blends modern with contemporary architectural elements and is covered inside and out with earth tones and strong angles. Having traveled around the world for work, play and competitive cycling, this lovely client had curated an impressive collection of art that she wished to display in a more cohesive fashion, while blending in new furniture pieces to evoke a sense of serenity and curiosity throughout the dining, TV room and formal living area.
To create the ultimate cozy, the TV room’s Womb Chair and Ewing coffee table, along with new area rugs and walnut-stained wall accessories, were staged at an angle to offset the room’s harsh angles and complemented with new house plants specific for low-light environments. A gorgeous walnut dining table grounds the space in the adjacent room, and custom upholstered chairs from Room & Board provide luxurious seating for the client’s frequent dinner guests!
In the formal living room, also serving as the front entry, the fireplace became the focal point for intimate conversation or quiet reading. JM Interiors re-purposed furniture from surrounding rooms, which included an exquisite handmade side table, a high-quality mid-century modern sofa and two club chairs. Final touches include room-softening succulents and laying out a collection of original landscape oil paintings, which today create a beautiful focal point for whomever walks in the front door.
