Country Club
We purchased this one floor, 4 bed, 2 bath ranch gem in May of 2015 and immediately scheduled
- new kitchen with open concept
- full exterior and interior paint job
- new roof
- wood floor refinishing throughout, Â plus additional wood floors in the kitchen (removing the old linoleum)
- new carpet in the master bedroom
- landscaping to clean and manicure the vast and promising but unkept yard
Prior to the interior paint job, we redesigned the kitchen layout and removed an "L" wall to bring more light into the space. This decision created a brighter living area, created more seating and social engagement opportunities, and adhered to the unwritten kitchen 'triangle rule' which gives the cook efficient navigation within the kitchen's work area. Â The kitchen island and lower cabinets thoughout are all IKEA. To make up for lost storage space, the kitchen island was designed with 24" deep cabinets and drawers on both sides. The open shelving is Julia's design, using 1 x 12" pine and inexpensive solid black brackets.
The bathroom, off the master bedroom, needed a creative and inexpensive remodel. The approximately 24" x 28" shower was not to code so we turned that space into open shelving, turned the shower kit facing the opposite direction which allowed for a full bathtub. Â We purchased a large, stackable washer/dryer which fit perfectly next to the sink.
The second bathroom bathtub was usable so we kept this, but replaced pretty much everything else, in a clean and neutral palette. Bam!
